At Computer Homecare, we are always looking for low cost options to help customers get the most out of their computers. And when we find free solutions that meet the objectives of this mission, well, that’s even more exciting. Case in point: Picasa, a free software application owned by Google, is an amazing, user-friendly solution for managing, editing and sharing digital photos.

Conficker Virus Update

This month began with one of the biggest virus hypes we've seen in years. Since there haven't been any major news stories about catastrophic damage related to Conficker, many are wondering whether the virus is nothing more than a giant April Fools' prank.

Well, rest assured, Conficker is no hoax. It's out there. Unlike other viruses that have immediate and dramatic effects on computers, this one is a bit more subtle and, potentially, more dangerous than previous virus epidemics.

Announcing "Fast Track Training"

For a number of years, Computer Homecare has offered training through special organizations such as the Portage Senior Center and Friendship Village. The response to this training has been tremendous but it has been closed to people who do not belong to these organizations.

Due to our recent office move, we now have acquired a nicely-equipped, spacious conference room that can facilitate training sessions for small groups. We would like to take advantage of this space and offer computer training to the general public.
